Silver Accessories

Posted on January 4, 2012 by Trystan

I couldn’t help but add a few more little bits to my 12th nite outfit. First, some new pearl-drop earrings because all my 16th-century-esque ones are gold-based. That took about 10 minutes.

Then, a silver, black, & pearl girdle. I had bought this silver beaded necklace on eBay to use for parts — look at those big, fat, filigree beads! All for eight bucks, more than enough for a girdle. I added black glass beads from The Stash & some glass pearls that didn’t make it onto the gown itself.

I may use this black enamel & pearl cross brooch at the center-front point of the bodice, where the girdle ends. When I first got it off eBay, I’d planned to wear it a the neck of the bodice & have several silver & pearl necklaces hook over it a la the Isabella de Medici portrait. I’ll probably fuss with it on the day of the event.

It’s here, it’s queer! Late mail delivery of my ace/demi stripe silk from @silkbaron!!! My backyard makeover is complete! Added a patio umbrella last weekend & am ready to use the firepit tonight. Coconut bunnies & mango piggies at Peony Seafood Restaurant! Had dim sum with my parents & then we set up the cantilever umbrella on my patio, which was a huge hassle because of filling the giant base with sand. 18th-century but make it goth. I’m incapable of anything else! Another lazy Sunday for these two. I’ve finally got a purple(ish) rose! And lots of pink ones! The pink rose bush is in full sun, while the other is partly shaded. But the hated yellow rose flourished over there so I’m hopeful. Thanks to @the.garden.mamas for planting these beauties! All the other gothy plants seem to be going great too. The chair cushions I made a little while back are finally in place! A friend gave me one of those bat corkscrews! It’s not as quick to use as a regular one, but it sure is cute. Big crowd in SF today! Just a few of the signs I could get pix of.
