Doesn’t look like much, but I’ve been at it all day, off and on, between errands and chores around the house and, of course, screwing around on the computer.
Cut the skirt panels, shaped the waistband and hem (the front comes to a point and there’s a small train in the back), finished the top edge of the waistband (because it’ll be cartridge-pleated), cut and pieced the guarding, added a little reinforcement in the bottom edge of the guarding, and pinned the guards into place. Now I’m too pooped to sew that on!
Going to make dinner, watch Doctor Who on TiVo, and if I feel up to it afterwards, I’ll do the machine sewing part of the guard and maybe press the inside edges down so that’s all ready for hemming (ugh, 120″ of hand-sewing, and it’s velveteen + a poly damask, so steam-a-seam won’t help me here!).
