A bio-queen a la “RuPaul’s Drag U,” even tho’ nobody figured it out at the time. This was the costume I pulled together at the last minute for Costume College’s Saturday-night Gala. I intended to be a female drag queen — a faux queen — but everyone just thought it was me dressed up extra flashy. I received tons of compliments, so I guess the costume was a win even if the concept didn’t work.
And considering I spent two hours the Saturday before at the thrift store & costume shop finding the purple satin dress ($10), black satin stiletto pumps ($12), Elvira wig ($15), & purple false eyelashes ($10), this has got to be one of the least expensive & easiest costumes I’ve ever created. The flowers & onion grass I added to the wig & dress were in The Stash, along with a bit of silver mesh for a butt-bow on the gown. All the makeup was scrounged from my dressing table, & I winged it on the day-of, inspired by various things I’d seen around the net. I accessorized with as much bling as possible, natch.
Considering how much people liked me in a beehive & crazy makeup, I may have to do this again, even tho’ I thought this would be a one-night-only outfit… well, I always wanted Miss Jest to make another appearance 😉

Lol, too pretty for drag 😉
Costume College Gala Drag FOR THE WIN!
*high fives*
You looked rockin’!
I am quite addicted to Drag U, so I TOTALLY would have got it! You look so amazingly fabulous!
Yay! Thanks 🙂
Totally belated, but a) you looked SO PRETTY, and b) I couldn’t help but be reminded of you when I saw this awesome photo shoot of men half-done in drag: http://www.refinery29.com/half-drag-portraits/slideshow#slide-1.
I think you probably had the most creative costume in all the gala! 🙂
