I haven’t really blogged this outfit because I made it up pretty fast and out-of-my-head. It’s a basic kimono shape that I free-handed, using old bamboo/cotton mix sheets for the lining and silk taffeta for the outer. This proved to be an incredibly comfortable and stylish combo. The trim is some metallic stuff from Jo-Ann’s, inspired by this portrait.
At Chateau de Pys, I wore the dressing gown many times just as a robe, but in periodesque style, I wore it over a white chemise and drawers, and I tied the robe with the black silk sash from my chemise gown.
I used the black silk fichu from my redingote to create a turban, which I stuck a few ostrich plumes in for glamor. Add jewelry, makeup, and silver-embroidered black mules. Suitable also for salacious salons…
