I randomly bought this gown from Armstreet — they call it the “Found Princess” Chemise — during a brief window when it was available in black. I’m so glad I did! It’s made of a soft, floaty cotton-blend fabric that feels delicious and, though sheer, has enough substance to not be obscene. While made as some medieval-fantasy underwear, I immediately clocked it as an 18th-c. chemise gown and used it as such with an appropriate corset and petticoat underneath, plus a sash at the waist.
So far, I’ve only worn it for a backyard social-bubble picnic, but I think it will be a useful costume wardrobe staple in the future!
