 Votive Candle Favours
Materials:
  • votive candles
  • tulle or lace
  • ribbon
  • decorative paper
Get black or dark colored votive candles. Cut a large square of black or dark colored tulle or lace (use soft, lightweight tulle or lace -- it's prettier and easier to work with). Cut a long piece of black or dark colored ribbon (velvet ribbon, satin ribbon-by-the-yard, or curling paper ribbon). Place the candle in the center of the tulle/lace and pull the edges of the tulle/lace up. Tie the ribbon around the tulle/lace to enclose the candle.

You could also add a printed slip of paper wrapped around the candle, inside the tulle/lace. The paper could be printed with the couple's names and wedding date and/or a special quote or poem/song lyric. A quote that concerns light or flame and love would be especially appropriate.

Decorating the candles can further personalize the favours. Try making stamp decorated candles.
